Bitukura gorilla family group is located in Ruhija sector. It was named Bitukura after a river from which it was first sighted. Bitukura gorilla family group’s habituation activity lasted for only one year.
The habituation experience commenced in July 2007 and ended in October 2008 when the gorilla family group was declared free and opened for gorilla trekking activity for tourist.
